My Journey as a Salesman
During the last 25 years, I have sold everything from hot tub hire, to coaching services, to software and much more – and I have loved every minute.
I started my sales career at age 19, working for the Royal Bank of Scotland selling loans and savings accounts, before moving on to a car insurance broker.
A couple of years later, I landed my first business-to-business (B2B) sales role for a small telecommunications broker, where I was introduced to cold calling.
It was a disaster, and I quit after 6 months.
Thankfully, I put that setback behind me, picked up a good sales book, went back to that same job, and that’s when my sales career took off.
During the past 20 years, I have worked as a sales trainer, sales coach and sales consultant with some of Europe’s fastest-growing tech startups.
I have helped startups, including Trustpilot, Dreamdata, Zmags, Falcon.io, and Siteimprove scale in over 35 countries and raise over $100m in funding.
Since 2009, I have trained and coached over 5,000 people across 120 countries and delivered over 1,000 hours of one-to-one coaching and consulting.
